About Us
Westminster Tenshinkai Aikido Dojo is the headquarters of the International Tenshinkai Aikido Federation. The International Tenshinkai Aikido Federation originated from Vietnam, and recognized by the Aikido World Headquarters in Japan. The name Tenshinkai was given by O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba in 1968. Ten means Heaven, Shin means Heart, and Kai means Organization. Putting them together gives Tenshinkai the meaning of the Organization of Heavenly Hearts.

Sensei Dang Thong Phong is the President of the Federation and the head instructor at the dojo. Sensei Phong has over 50 years of experience in martial arts. He holds a 6th degree black belt in Aikido, 5th degree black belt in Judo and 6th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Sensei Phong also holds an 8th degree black belt in Han Bai Duong Vietnamese Shaolin Kungfu and is the 3rd generation Grandmaster of this art (complete biography of Sensei Phong). Many highly dedicated black belt students assist Sensei Phong in the daily teaching and administrative tasks.

The dojo is located in Westminster, California. We have daily and weekend classes in Aikido. Classes for adult and children are available. Visitors are welcome. Aikido seminars are frequently taught here by Sensei Phong and many other high ranking Shihans and Senseis.
